In its 32nd annual The Best of Newspaper Design™ Creative Competition, the Society for News Design has named Portugal’s i newspaper, a daily that launched in 2009, the World’s Best-Designed™ Newspaper.
This newspaper is indeed beautiful. The typography is perfect to my eye, the use of color and contrast is effective and the brand is clear. The grid is simple and versatile. All while living within very strict constraints of printed newspapers.
